This was fun and it gave me a great chance to experience the Lincoln Memorial at different times of the day. I was really surprised that night was actually the busiest. The night shot was by far the hardest. There were way more people and finagling the tripod proved to be the biggest challenge. The dawn shot was the best. The experience was so tranquil and humbling. I got there before anyone and had the opportunity to just soak up the atmosphere. As you can see the midday, full sun shot seems to be the harshest. The sun was cold but beaming. I did not use a filter for any of the shots. I wanted to capture only the difference in lighting. So in order Dusk, midday, dawn
I love DC! I have been there 5 times in the past 6 years, I was just there in Nov. Your shots of the Lincoln Memorial are great, I like the top shot the best.
This is a great set of shots. Reading about the effects of the different daylight settings and observing them are very different. I agree that the morning shot has a sense of tranquility to it...perhaps it's the blue tones of the morning light!

Love the subject you chose! My favorite is the last photo, the one taken at night. The shadows really make Lincoln look formidable.
